Quite different quite a different music

There have been several works of music inspired by the works of Beckett, particularly works of contemporary classical. This section will endeavor to explore these pieces and the artists behind them. If you have any additional references you would like to see here, please let me know


Luciano Berio -- Italy's master of the avant-garde, Berio utilized fragments of Beckett's The Unnamable in his masterpiece Sinfonia.

Gyula Csapo -- Hungarian composer of Krapps Last Tape; After Samuel Beckett.

Morton Feldman -- This friend of Beckett composed For Samuel Beckett, and his opera Neither has a libretto based on Beckett texts.

Philip Glass -- One of America's premier composers, Philip Glass scored Company for string quartet.

Pel Gudmundsen-Holmgreen -- Composer of Trois poemes de Samuel Beckett.

Roger Marsh -- York professor and Joycean producer, Marsh wrote PS and Bits & Scraps in the 1970s.

Roger Reynolds -- This Pulitzer-prize winner composed several Beckett pieces, including Ping, Odyssey, and Voicespace II, "A Merciful Coincidence".
