The Works of Umberto Eco
This section of Porta Ludovica is the largest annotated bibliography of Eco’s work available on the Web. Because Eco is such a prolific writer in so many fields, it has been broken down into eight sections, the final being a complete Italian/English bibliography without any additional commentary. (In order to preserve the editor’s sanity, there has been no attempt to index the legion of books that only contain a preface or introduction by Eco.) Porta Ludovica offers these eight categories as a loose framework to facilitate organization certain works, such as Kant and the Platypus or Zeitgeist in Babel, may fit logically in several categories, so a few arbitrary placements have been occasionally made. If you are looking for a specific work and are unsure under which category to search, you can check the “Quick Reference Card” below the links. As on the pages themselves, the works are listed in the order in which they were written.
Porta Ludovica would also like to thank Indiana University for providing such excellent review excerpts.
