Elizabeth Lauer (b. 1932)
A composer of mainly chamber music and vocal work, Elizabeth Lauer studied composition at Bennington College and Columbia University. After receiving a Fulbright scholarship, Lauer completed further study in coposition at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Germany. She spent five years as Assistant to the President of Columbia Records Masterworks division, followed by one year as an Assistant Producer. Having taught for several years at the University of Bridgeport, Lauer is currently on the faculty of SUNY Purchase.

Seven Songs on Poems of James Joyce -- (1955). For voice and piano, based on poems from Joyce's Chamber Music.
