Champagne Laurels and Hardies

The Libyrinth has been mentioned in several publications since it's been online.
Honorable Mentions

Varriaciones Borges
"The Crimson Hexagon: Books Borges Never Wrote," Ruch, Allen: Variationes Borges, ed. Ivan Almeida & Cristina Parodi; Vol. 1, 1996, pp 121-131.
This article was adapted from my "Crimson Hexagon" page on the Borges site, and "reviews" all the books mentioned by Borges, but never actually written by him. . . .

MACinations Magazine
"Web Weaver's Corner," Cave, Charles: MACinations, April 1997, pp 29-31 (Australia).
This article ran in "Australia's leading Macintosh user group magazine," and took the form of an interview. It includes some nice pictures they took from the Libyrinth, and it all really makes me sound more intelligent than I actually am.

Australian Net Guide
"A Very Web Adventure: Umberto Eco," Hopkins, Linda: Australian Net Guide, April 1997, pp 76 (Australia).
The Umberto Eco site is briefly, but favorably, reviewed in this issue.

Digital Camera
"It's Showtime," Australian Digital Camera, Issue Three 1997, pp 32-35 (Australia).
An interview about the images and graphic design techniques I use for the Libyrinth. This very nice articles has a few full color pictures, and really makes me look good. Those Australians -- boy, they really recognize talent, don't they?

The Web Magazine
"Books/Magazines: Porta Ludovica," Andrews, Dean: The Web, September 1997, pp 45.
The editors of The Web selected the Umberto Eco site as one of their featured sites of the month.

USA Today
"García Márquez memorabilia; a site to assess your stress," Meddis, Sam Vincent: USA Today, September 30 1997.
A small but cheerful mention: "Fans of Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez will find a little on-line magic at the Libyrinth: a biographical time line, reviews of major works, personal info and even images. The photo with Chilean poet Pablo Neruda is a hoot."

The Web Magazine
"Books/Magazines: Editor's Choice: Macondo," Andrews, Dean: The Web, October 1997, pp 46.
Macondo, the García Márquez site, was selected as the "Editor's Choice" for October. They also wrote a very nice review -- and hey, I can now say I shared billing with Gillian Anderson, who graced the cover, sigh.

New York Times
"Internet democratizes criticism," Jason Chervokas and Tom Watson: New York Times, January 3, 1998.
I was interviewed for this article, and to my surprise they quoted me extensively and even correctly! The article discussed the effect the Web and email was having on literary criticism, and used Joyce as an illustrative example.

Yahoo Internet Life Magazine
"Brazen Head: Site of the Month." Yahoo, March 1998.
The Brazen Head chosen as the Site of the Month, a nod to paddies everywhere for St. Patrick's Day.

Graf Magazine
"Borges Special edition" Graf Magazine, May 1998 (Denmark).
A friendly Danish magazine that used some of my Borges images and mentioned my site in a positive light . . . well, I think. My Danish is a bit rusty, which is to say, nonexistent.

James Joyce Quarterly
"Flying by the Net: James Joyce in Cyberspace." Joyce Quarterly, vol. 35, no. 1, October 1998.
The Brazen Head was featured in an article on Joyce Web sites.
